Отчеты об электросвязи и использовании космического пространства в мирных целях

В своей резолюции № 1721 (XVI) Генеральная Ассамблея ООН 1961 года просила Международный союз электросвязи представить доклад о тех аспектах космической связи, в которых потребуется международное сотрудничество, и в 1962 году МСЭ подготовил свой первый отчет "Электросвязь и использование космического пространства в мирных целях". Этот первый отчет был представлен Генеральной Ассамблее ООН и Экономическому и Социальному Совету (ЭКОСОС). Последующие отчеты были представлены Комитету ООН по использованию космического пространства в мирных целях (КОПУОС), специальному комитету, созданному в 1959 году для координирования международного сотрудничества в области исследования и использования космического пространства в мирных целях.

Отчет публиковался ежегодно в период с 1962 по 1996 год. В каждом отчете кратко излагалась основная информация о деятельности МСЭ в области космического пространства, осуществленной с момента публикации предыдущего отчета. Кроме того, в приложение включалась предоставляемая Государствами – Членами МСЭ информация о прогрессе, достигнутом ими в вопросах развития космической связи.
